How does EFT work?
Hi, I’m Claire, and I often get asked questions about EFT – Who is it for? How does it work? What does it help with? How fast does it work?
So, I’ve created this FAQ page for you.

What is EFT tapping and how can it help women in business?
EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques, often called tapping. It’s a body-based mindset tool that combines gentle tapping on acupressure points to help calm the nervous system.
For women in business, that matters more than most people realise. Because when you’re overwhelmed, second-guessing yourself or stuck in fear, it’s very hard to make clear strategic decisions.
EFT helps settle the nervous system so you can move out of survival mode and back into clear, grounded thinking. In practical terms, that can help with confidence, visibility, pricing, procrastination, perfectionism and making better decisions in your business.
How is your EFT work different to other EFT coaches?
I’m a big believer in combining EFT with coaching and mentoring to help you get results that stick.
I don’t just give you strategy and send you on your way, and I don’t only focus on mindset in a vacuum either.
EFT helps us work with what is happening beneath the surface, like fear, self-doubt, overwhelm, old patterns or a dysregulated nervous system. Coaching helps you build awareness, make aligned decisions and move forward with intention. Mentoring brings in practical support, perspective and guidance based on real business experience.
Together, they create a powerful combination. We clear what is getting in the way internally, strengthen how you think and respond, and then support you to take the right action externally.
Does EFT help with overwhelm?
Yes. In fact, this is one of the most common reasons women come to work with me.
When you feel stuck, overwhelmed or anxious, it’s often not because you need to try harder. It’s usually because your nervous system is under pressure and your brain is scanning for danger, problems and worst-case scenarios. That can make everything feel urgent, heavy or impossible.
EFT helps calm that internal stress response so you can think more clearly, feel more resourced and stop making decisions from panic. From there, it becomes much easier to know what actually matters and take the next step without spiralling.
Can EFT help with money blocks?
Yes. Money blocks are rarely just about money. They are often tied to fear, identity, self-worth, visibility, rejection, guilt or what you’ve learned to believe about success, receiving and being fully supported.
That’s why simply telling yourself to “charge more” often doesn’t work. If your nervous system does not feel safe with higher prices, more visibility or more responsibility, you will usually find a way to hesitate, overdeliver, avoid promoting your work or undercharge.
EFT helps uncover and shift those patterns so you can create a healthier relationship with money and make pricing decisions that feel aligned for you from clarity rather than fear.
Does EFT help me be more confident?
Absolutely.
Visibility blocks and imposter syndrome (the enemies of self-confidence) can be incredibly intelligent protection strategies. However, they are not proof that you are not ready; they are often signs that some part of you associates being seen with pressure, judgement, criticism or risk.
EFT helps reduce the emotional charge around those patterns so you can show up more confidently and consistently. That might look like posting content without overthinking it, speaking about your work more clearly, selling without apology or trusting yourself more deeply in rooms where you used to shrink.
You do not need to become a different person. You just need to feel safer being fully yourself.
How do I know I'm making the right business decisions?
Are decisions coming from a stress response? Or from a place of calm and clarity?
Usually, your body tells you before your brain admits it.
If you are making quick, reactive decisions, constantly changing direction, overthinking everything, seeking too many opinions, wanting to burn it all down, or feeling intense urgency to fix things immediately, there is a good chance stress is in the driver’s seat.
Decisions made from clarity tend to feel grounded, spacious and steady, even when they are bold. Decisions made from stress often feel contracted, panicked or strangely convincing in the moment, but not truly settled.
What kinds of business challenges do you help with?
My clients bring a wide range of challenges, but there are some common themes.
The most common theme is feeling stuck in the gap between where they are and where they know they could be. Other themes include self-doubt, procrastination, perfectionism, money worries, undercharging, inconsistent action, content resistance, decision fatigue, burnout risk and visibility fears.
Sometimes the challenge looks practical on the surface, like pricing, launching, showing up online or making offers. But underneath, there is often a mindset or nervous system pattern driving it. That is the piece we work with, because that is usually what creates lasting change.
Do you work with successful business owners to help grow their business?
My work is absolutely for successful business owners too.
You do not need to be falling apart to benefit from this work. In fact, many women come to me when they are already doing well, but are wanting to expand and grow their business, without tipping into stress, overwork or self-sabotage.
Self-sabotage tends to show up a little differently later in the business journey. It’s less obvious, but no less damaging. Once you have those runs on the board as a successful business owner, adding layers of complexity to your funnel, dropping big dollars on a new strategic business coach or telling yourself you just need to double down and work longer hours for a while can seem perfectly sensible – until six months down the track when you realise you’ve been making decisions out of fear, instead of alignment.
Which is where I come in. My work is a blend of coaching, mentoring, EFT and accountability, so you’re supported to make those important business decisions from the right head space.
Which is why I view working with someone such as myself as a must-have, not a nice-to-have.
This work supports both the woman in the wobble and the woman who is ready to expand in a more sustainable and aligned way.
Can I still work with you if I know nothing about EFT?
Of course. You don’t need any previous experience with EFT, mindset work or nervous system regulation at all.
I will guide you through the process in a simple, supportive way and explain what we are doing as we go. You do not need to get it perfect, say the right thing or know how it all works in advance. You just need to be willing to be honest about what is going on for you, and open to trying a different way forward.
What happens in an EFT session with you?
Each session is tailored to what is going on for you, but generally we begin by looking at what feels most present or most stuck. That might be a business challenge, a mindset wobble, a fear response or a pattern you keep repeating.
From there, we use a blend of conversation, coaching and Clinical EFT to uncover what is driving the issue and help regulate the nervous system around it. As the emotional charge comes down, clarity tends to come up. That is when we can access the deeper insight, make aligned decisions and identify the next steps in a much more grounded way.
It is practical, supportive and powerful.
Do you work with women online or in-person?
I work with women online, which means you can access support from wherever you are.
Online sessions are effective, flexible and easy to fit into real life and business. You still receive the same depth of support, insight and transformation without needing to factor in travel time or location.
How many EFT sessions will I need?
That really depends on what you are working through, how deeply rooted the pattern is and what kind of support you want moving forward.
Some women get a lot from a short burst of focused support around a specific issue. Others prefer ongoing work so they can create deeper change, build stronger self-trust and have support as they grow. This is about meeting you where you are and supporting the level of change you are ready for.
If you are not sure what would suit you best, we can talk through that together.
Is EFT scientifically sound and safe to use?
Yes. The type of EFT I use is Clinical EFT, which has been extensively researched and is considered an evidence-informed approach. I am also trauma-informed, which means I work in a way that prioritises safety, choice, and nervous system awareness throughout the process.
EFT is a gentle and adaptable approach, and sessions are guided carefully based on what feels appropriate for you. You are never pushed to go faster or deeper than feels safe. My role is to create a supportive space where real change can happen without overriding your system in the process.
How do I know you're the right fit to work with me?
You are likely a good fit for this work if you are a woman in business who knows she is capable of more, but something keeps getting in the way. Maybe you are stuck in overthinking, self-doubt, visibility resistance, overwhelm or patterns that no amount of strategy seems to solve.
My work is especially suited to women who want practical support, deeper mindset work and nervous system-aware tools, not just surface-level motivation. If you are ready to understand what is really driving your patterns and create change from the inside out, there is a good chance this work will feel like a strong fit.
